Success Stories

Ann is really fun and happy and made reading like a game. I used to cry when I tried to read. Now I love learning to read!

- Laura, 8

...I was at a point of despair not knowing how to properly help my 4 dyslexic children. We had tried so many things, but none of it seemed to be working. Then we found Ann! She taught me the proper way to help each of my children and the right programs to use (and they have worked!) She has changed our family forever...

- Melissa, mother of 5

When my son was 14, he still could hardly read simple 3 letter words, even after using other interventions for many years. He is a severe dyslexic with short term memory issues, and reading seemed almost an impossibility. After implementing all that Ann has taught us, he jumped up to a 4th grade reading level and is steadily improving. We have learned the importance of using research based programs. They really work!

- Michelle, mother of a happy son who can finally read

Tutoring Tuition Costs

Students enroll at the STC for a minimum of two lessons each week. This frequency of instruction allows us to make meaningful progress. Reading lessons are billed on a monthly tuition basis. Tuition varies from month to month depending on the calendar, and will generally range from $300 (six lessons) to $400 (eight lessons). This breaks down to a cost of $50 per lesson.

We also have computer lab sessions available for those students who would like some extra time on our reading software programs.

Preschool and Kindergarten Prerequisite Literacy Tuition

Young children enrolled in our preschool or kindergarten literacy classes are accompanied by a parent. These classes are twice a week and are billed on a monthly tuition basis. A four-week month would be $200 (eight lessons) where a 3-week month would be $150 (six lessons). This breaks down to a cost of $25.00 per lesson. A 10% discount per month is given for those who would like to donate materials for classes from our list.

Tuition Payments

As part of our environmental efforts monthly tuition invoices are sent by email. If you would prefer a hard copy, just let us know when you enroll. Payment for each month is due on the 15th.

Absences & Make Up Policy

If you anticipate an absence, do let us know 24 hours in advance. Otherwise you will be charged for the full amount, without receiving credit for a make-up lesson. While as much advanced notice as possible is always appreciated, we also realize that small emergencies will come up. In the event your child is ill, for example, just let us know as soon as you can and you will still receive a make-up credit.

With advanced notice, we will charge you for your regular lesson as a part of the tuition bill, but you will receive a make-up credit, which may be used within one year. This policy allows us to keep our literacy specialists fully scheduled, keeping costs down for children who need their lessons most.

During summer-months, lessons missed due to camp, planned vacations or the road-trip to Grandma's will not be charged as long as our office is notified a week in advance.

Schedule a Make Up Lesson

To schedule a make-up lesson, please call (801) 225-5505.

Make-up times are first come, first serve. We are unable to guarantee that the make-up lessons available will work with your child's schedule.
